The Whip Shader® (WS) contains a single textured acupuncture needle, secured only by its metal coil handle for maximum flexibility and dispersed implantation. A first of its kind and created specifically for whip shading, the Whip Shader® allows needles to flex from inside the cartridge and not just from beyond the tip. This in turn reduces the likeliness of visible lines during whip shading and instead allows the needle to bounce through the skin creating a naturally dispersed dusting of pixels with minimal trauma.

For this needle, we opted for a textured acupuncture needle to allow the needle to carry as much pigment as possible as it’s specifically designed for shading. Having the needle secured by its coil handle only and not soldered to any other needle or bar for support, along with the absence of any additional stabilisers means the needle can flex as much as its own diameter allows it to. The smaller the diameter, the smaller the puncture in the skin, but also the more flex the needle will have. The thicker the needle the larger the puncture and the less flexible the needle will be.

The Whip Shader® allows each diameter needle to perform to its utmost flexibility in comparison to other singles in the line such as the Liner Shader or Liner due to not restricting the flexibility with soldering, needle bars or stabilisers.

AcuPoint® Acupuncture Cartridge System

AcuPoint® Acupuncture Cartridge System has been developed by Leah Richardson – The Cosmetic Tattooist, founder and co-owner of Cosmetic Tattoo Supplies.

Each AcuPoint® needle cartridge is built using only acupuncture needles which are known as the ‘painless needle’ due to the minimal trauma and pain caused by needle insertion. Acupuncture needle tips do not taper to a sharp point like a pencil or traditional tattoo needle, but instead have a rounded profile likened to a pinecone or bullet tip. This is less traumatic, pushing the fibrous tissues apart with each puncture to the skin as opposed to cutting through them.

The AcuPoint® range is further diversified by offering both textured and polished acupuncture needles for specific configurations to create more versatility and offer the middle ground between a true acupuncture needle and a traditional polished tattoo needle.
