Step 1 is the solution used for the first part of Elan Brow Lamination System. The product softens the hair cuticle, thus opening the cuticle scales and penetrating carefully into the hairs. The mild formula of the solution ensures the perfect eyebrow hair straightening providing the maximum protection of hair bonds. The pH of the solution is 9.0 ‒ 9.5.
The product doesn’t contain thioglycolic acid salt or ammonium hydroxide.
How Step 1 works:
‐ Due to the mild alkaliser ethanolamine, which is one of the ingredients, the solution opens the cuticle scales and provides a softer effect on the hairs than traditional ammonium thioglycolate;
‐ The innovative restructuring agent cysteamine hydrochloride carefully remodels disulfide bonds and sets the eyebrow hairs in place;
‐ The nourishing keratin-based complex protects the protein structures of the eyebrow hairs during the lamination procedure, while urea, the component of the natural moisturising factor, retains the necessary moisture and protects the hairs from dryness and damage.
Note: Over time Step 1 can develop a yellowish colour because of cysteamine hydrochloride peculiarities. The presence of sulfur odour is also acceptable.

How Step 2 works:
- It restores disulfide bonds of the hairs and protects them from damage;
- It sets the eyebrow hair shape, restoring the natural рН of the hairs;
- It closes the hair cuticle scales, neutralising the excess of the alkaliser;
- Step 2 is enriched with the nourishing complex based on cationic and wetting agents, which provides the conditioning effect on the hairs, adds shine and leaves the skin feeling smooth.
Brow Elixir
This concentrate is enriched with a natural oil complex: monoi, coconut, avocado, rosa canina, olive, arctium, argan, maize, which provides the powerful moisturising, regenerative, soothing and protective effect on the skin after the eyebrow lamination procedure. The oils also prevent dryness and damage of the eyebrow hairs and facilitate their strengthening. Vitamin E provides the concentrate with significant antioxidant properties.
Result: the eyebrow hairs become softer and more elastic. It is easier to set them in place and preserve the eyebrow shape. The skin is protected from dryness and dehydration.
Instructions:
1) Analyze the eyebrow hair condition of a client
Specify the processing time of the eyebrow lamination solutions according to the instructions following below:
1st type: the eyebrow hairs are thick, spiky, not having undergone chemical procedures earlier (the eyebrow tinting or bleaching procedures) – processing time is 12–15 minutes;
2nd type: the eyebrow hairs are of the medium thickness, natural, healthy or having undergone chemical procedures earlier (the eyebrow tinting or bleaching procedures) – processing time is 6–12 minutes.
2) Prepare the eyebrows for the lamination procedure
1. Use Elan Cleansing detox-mousse for eyebrows and eyelashes with antibacterial effect for the skin and hair degreasing before the eyebrow lamination procedure.
3) Create the eyebrow shape (Step 1)
1. Apply a thin layer of the argan oil cream by Elan on the eyebrows and a thicker layer on the skin around the eyebrows.
2. Apply Step 1 on the eyebrows. The processing time is 6–15 minutes.
3. Cover the eyebrow area carefully with cling film to enhance the solution effect. The processing time is 3–15 minutes. When the processing time is finished, remove the film and brush the hairs carefully setting them in the right direction. Check the hair condition. Cover the eyebrow area with the film again and leave it to develop for 3–5 minutes, if needed.
Note: The maximum processing time should not exceed the processing time for the selected eyebrow hair type.
4. When the processing time is finished, remove the excess of the solution with a cotton pad, moistened with water.
Note: It is important to take into consideration the eyebrow hair growth direction when creating the eyebrow shape. The eyebrow shape changes should be smooth in order to avoid folding of the hairs.
4) Fix the eyebrow hair direction (Step 2)
1. Apply a thin layer of the argan oil cream by Elan on the eyebrows and a thicker layer on the skin around the eyebrows.
2. Apply and spread Step 2 on the eyebrows setting the hairs carefully in the right direction.
Note: The amount of the solution used at the fourth stage of the eyebrow lamination procedure should be equal to the amount of the solution used at the third stage of creating the eyebrow shape.
3. Cover the eyebrow area carefully with cling film to enhance the solution effect.
Note: The processing time at the fourth stage should be equal to the processing time at the third stage of creating the eyebrow shape. It is not allowed to reduce the processing time.
4. When the processing time is finished, remove the excess of the solution with a cotton pad, moistened with water.
5. Apply Elan Cleansing detox-mousse for eyebrows and eyelashes with antibacterial effect on the eyebrows to stop the chemical reaction. Remove foam with a cotton pad, moistened with water.
6. Use Elan Colour Fix colour fixing fluid for eyebrows and eyelashes with keratin and sunflower seed oil for better results. If the eyebrow tinting procedure is not planned, then the lamination procedure is finished.
7. Apply the tinting mixture immediately after using Elan Cleansing detox-mousse for eyebrows and eyelashes with antibacterial effect.
Note: It is necessary to take into consideration that the eyebrow hair colour is supposed to be brighter and appear faster on the hairs when the eyebrow tinting procedure is performed.
8. Use Elan Colour Fix colour fixing fluid for eyebrows and eyelashes with keratin and sunflower seed oil for the better results after the eyebrow tinting procedure.
Note: The eyebrow shaping must be performed only when the eyebrow lamination procedure is finished. It is highly recommended to use eyebrow tweezers in order to avoid serious skin damage.
